At Orange Frog Productions, we specialize in delivering top-notch lighting solutions for events, shows, and studio productions. Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepping Shows:
- Assist in the warehouse with the preparation and pull of rental gear.
- Prepare and maintain equipment for shows, including setup and teardown.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on lighting equipment.
2. WYSIWYG Drafting:
- Create and render lighting drafts using WYSIWYG software.
- Manage drafting paperwork and create labels for truss.
- Calculate rigging weights
3. Working Shows and Events:
- Set up, operate, and repair lighting and electrical equipment on-site.
- Serve as the Safety Officer, filling out safety documents, managing crew sign-in/sign-out, and conducting toolbox meetings.
- Act as Crew Chief and Team Lead for local crew members.
- Complete show reports detailing facility information, changes, layout, and power requirements, and file with the Operations Manager.
- Update and inform the CEO and Labour Coordinator of any concerns regarding crew quality and billing issues.
- Program lighting consoles and act as Dimmer Tech. GMA3 and ChamSys
- Manage client interactions on-site and communicate call completion status via email or text (GO/NO GO).
4. Console Operation:
- Program lighting consoles for events and shows.
- Act as a designer on-site when required.
- Grand MA3+ChamSys knowledge to an advanced level is a must.
- Musically inclined. (Must be able to program the lights with the rhythm of the music)
5. On-site Safety Officer:
- Complete and file on-site safety documentation.
- Report any incidents to the CEO and Labour Coordinator.
6. Electronic Repair Technician
- Maintenance of equipment when necessary
- Electronic repairs to a component level.
- Order parts
- Log repairs into FLEX
7. Trucking:
- Arrange and manage truck packs.
- Drive rental trucks and plan routes to and from venues.
- Ensure safe and legal parking arrangements in coordination with the Account Representative.
8. Other Duties:
- Use Flex software to track job lists and project completion.
- Operate forklifts and aerial platforms.
- Update and maintain equipment software.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Lighting Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency with WYSIWYG software and lighting consoles.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead a team and manage on-site operations effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience with forklifts and aerial platforms is a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
- First Aid Certified
