Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Medical Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 01/27/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, nights Employment Type: Local Contract Job Title: Medical Technologist - Lab Technologist Location: Detroit, MI 48202 Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: 2300-0730 Rotating weekends, holiday availability required Hourly pay rate: $53/hr Duties: Under general supervision, performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems. Skills: -Requires six months experience in a medical laboratory setting. -Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions are required. Education: -Completion of accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences. -Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if completed coursework aligns with the duties of the specific Medical Technologist position. -Coursework completed outside of the US must be verified by a NACES approved credential evaluation service. Additional Note: 13-week assignment Likely to extend, possibility of conversion to FTE Requirements: Min 3-5 years' experience (in hematology preferred) Previous hematology experience Tech certification Experience with fluid cell counts & differentials Completion of accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if completed coursework aligns with the duties of the specific Medical Technologist position. Preferred - Hematology Spezialist Certification Training will be Mon - Friday starting at 6.30 am or 7 am for 6-8 weeks of the assignment and then we'll switch to midnight Candidates working on automation line.
