We represent one of the fastest growing insurance companies in the United States, looking to hire an attorney with 5-7 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance matters to join their legal team. The successful candidate will support reinsurance operations by providing expert legal advice with a focus on drafting and negotiating reinsurance and associated agreements, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel and support on insurance and reinsurance matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating reinsurance contracts and related agreements.
• Advise on regulatory compliance issues related to reinsurance and underwriting activities.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, operations and finance departments to address legal issues and provide solutions that align with business objectives.
• Conduct legal research and stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices.
• Assist in the resolution of reinsurance disputes, including managing litigation and arbitration processes.
• Support the development and implementation of corporate reinsurance policies and procedures.
• Review and advise on reinsurance-related documentation and transactions.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• 5-7 years of relevant legal experience in reinsurance with a law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
• Strong knowledge of insurance and reinsurance principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating reinsurance agreements and contracts.
