The Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety programs. The Health & Safety Specialist position provides technical and professional support services in warehousing and manufacturing environments across all our locations in Canada.
- Develop and deploy workplace Health and Safety prevention programs and procedures, audit their application, coach leaders on their roles and responsibilities and ensure that best practices are implemented. (Prevention programs related to industrial risks such as machine safety, prevention of electrical risks, warehouse circulation, management of hazardous materials and chemical risks, ventilation, and warehouse safety, etc.)
- Actively participate in employee health & safety committees across multiple provinces.
- Develop written Health and Safety procedures and deliver training related to specific risks.
- Conduct H&S regulatory monitoring, perform impact assessments and create action plans.
- Perform risk assessments, inspections and audits of the workplace and manage action plans
- Audit and improve fire evacuation procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities / workshops to optimize processes.
- Perform trend analysis, reports and make recommendations.
- Train warehouse employees on lift equipment.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor degree in a related field (Health and safety, environment, engineering, science, etc.)
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
- Organized and efficient and able to coordinate the implementation of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communicator with a client-oriented approach.
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to think strategically, seek creative solutions, analyze and solve problems.
- Based in Senneville, able to travel to all our locations across Canada according to Health & Safety projects (Edmonton, northern BC, Vancouver, Toronto).
