Responsibilities -
- Using routings/manufacturing instructions.
- Manage the successful transition of new products and technology into the production arena.
- Evaluate and approve drawings, routings/MIs, specs and other documents.
- Evaluate and solve production problems by partnering with all departments to make the Engineering department a positive influence on quality, productivity, efficiency and uptime.
- Manage production operations including all activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes.
- May participate in ideation, concept development, management of, or direct supervision of product development or process improvement initiatives.
- Optimize employee management by working closely with mechanics on the production floor 85% of each day.
- Provide input and direction to the Lead Mechanic with weekday, weekend and vacation scheduling to minimize overtime.
- Optimize inventory to reduce costs, while maintaining proper parts availability and insure that all Enterprise Asset Management System functions are adhered to.
- Assist in interviewing and selection process for the hiring of new personnel in the Engineering Department.

- Must have knowledge of machining and assembly practices, tools and fixturing.
- Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.
- Must excel at working in a team environment.
- Must be familiar with product construction and application.
- Must have complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
- This position requires that the person be a highly organized individual, who is self-motivated, and can work independently.
- Must have very strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills, including group presentations.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
- Will be computer literate, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications.
Preferred Skills -
- Four to five years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products.
- High school diploma
- Extensive knowledge in the following areas: 1. Electrical, pneumatics 2. Hydraulics, 3. Interpersonal skills, and ability to utilize all available resources to maximize effectiveness of the Engineering team.
Pay range and compensation package - 68,000-80,000 annually
