Job Description: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

• Location: 1900 Sunrise Dr, Saint Peter, MN, 56082
• Department/Unit: Administration
• Shift: 8 Hour Days
• Relocation Package: $5,000 - $10,000 (negotiated at time of offer)

Position Summary:

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides clinical and administrative leadership to the clinical care areas of the hospital including Nursing, Pharmacy, and Rehabilitation Services. The CNO ensures that patient care expectations are exceeded, supports the organization in implementing its mission-vision-values, and oversees the integration of care delivery systems. This role merges the art and science of nursing to meet patient care needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for clinical operations and care delivery.
• Oversee the development and implementation of nursing and clinical service protocols.
• Collaborate with the executive leadership team to align clinical care with organizational goals.
• Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement in patient care.
• Implement and maintain best practices in nursing and clinical services.
• Promote professional growth, training, and mentorship of nursing and clinical staff.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Direct the integration and coordination of services across clinical departments.
• Drive patient satisfaction and ensure a high standard of patient care outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient safety and care delivery.

Qualifications:

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing (Required).
• Master’s degree in nursing or related field (Preferred).
• Current MN Registered Nurse license (Required).
• American Heart BLS certification (Required).
• Minimum of four years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting (Required).
• Experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting (Preferred).
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives and foster team collaboration.
