ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR Reports To: Director of Admissions FLSA Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt) POSITION SUMMARY The Admissions Coordinator is the liaison for referrals, tours and admissions. The Admissions Coordinator has responsibility for ensuring that all information is obtained, documented and communicated to the appropriate staff within the Healthcare Center. Detailed documentation is accomplished through the Admissions, Discharge and Transfer System (ADT). The Admissions Coordinator is responsible and accountable to the Healthcare Center Admissions Director for: (1) gathering and processing all daily census information within the MFA Corporate guidelines, (2) gathering and processing all information necessary to complete the preadmission review process, (3) adhering to all MFA admissions operational standards, policies and procedures, (4) securing admissions and bed retention agreements and payments in a timely manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for obtaining referral information from telephone and walk-in inquiries and obtaining required documentation as outlined in company policies and procedures.Performs other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the healthcare center.Ensures financial verification is complete and accurate before a patient is admitted to the healthcare center, therefore assisting in minimizing accounts receivable.Conducts a professional and effective tour which may include utilizing the healthcare center's personnel with the objective of gaining family commitment to admit to the center.Maintains or secures the means to maintain daily updates on the Admissions, Discharge, and Transfers system (ADT) in accordance with the Daily Census Procedures Manual; responsible for the integrity of the data that is entered into the ADT system.Conducts the admissions process as outlined by corporate policy and procedure with patients and/or responsible parties. Ensures that a smooth transition is achieved and that all contractual contractual agreements are completed upon admission.Provides updates to the Admissions Director in a timely fashion (no less than daily) on referrals, barriers to admissions, and all departmental concerns.Informs the Admissions Director of any referral source issues that arise during the referral process.Assists with training of all identified back up admissions team members. JOB DESCRIPTION: ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR 2 of 3 REVISED 12/2022Promotes interdepartmental team dynamics and cooperation for efficient customer service to enhance census promotion.Involves staff in tours and introduces them appropriate to prospective clients.Reports all instances of abuse or neglect or other concerns to management.Attends and participates in orientation, training, in-service education, and staff meetings. Ensure all mandatory training is completed on time.Communicates all billing issues with the business office and Admissions Director. PREREQUISITESAssociate degree in related field or equivalent experience preferredCompletion of company's Admissions Management & Data Entry Systems certifications.Previous experience should include working in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred. PREFERRED SKILLSStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently with limited supervision.PHYSICAL DEMANDS LIGHT MEDIUM HEAVY EXTENSIVE Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally.
