Occupational Therapist (Weekend) - UPMC Williamsport
Schedule: 10-hour shifts every Saturday and Sunday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Overview: UPMC Williamsport is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our weekend team. This role involves providing high-quality therapy services to patients on Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments based on physician or practitioner diagnoses and instructions.
Develop and implement personalized treatment programs tailored to the patient’s age and specific needs.
Prepare and send detailed patient status summaries at discharge to the appropriate staff.
Maintain accurate daily documentation of patient progress.
Supervise and provide feedback to students, volunteers, externs, and support staff.
Assist patients in obtaining necessary assistive devices and durable medical supplies.
Adhere to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Commit to personal development and continuing education.
Promote a culture of high-quality, safe work practices and encourage others to do the same.
Identify and address processes or systems that could lead to inefficiencies, unsafe conditions, errors, or adverse events.
Encourage patient and family involvement in safety-related processes.
Report unsafe conditions or events immediately and participate in projects or action plans to reduce risks or mitigate harm.
Deliver educational programs to hospital staff and client groups as requested.
Inform patients about third-party treatment limitations as they approach their limits.
Receive, schedule, and provide therapy for referred patients.
Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.
Join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients every weekend! A bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is required. A master's degree in Occupational Therapy is preferred. Prior experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Occupational Therapist licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required. The candidate must be certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy or be eligible for certification. Functional Independence Measure certification is required within 8 weeks of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Occupational Therapist (OT)
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
