Job title: Patient care technician

Location: New york City, NY

Shift: Evenings/Nights (as per candidate preference) 5*8

Pay: $25-$27/hr

Job description- A Patient Care Technician's responsibilities include measuring and documenting vital signs. They also identify patient concerns and report them to their colleagues. A Patient Care Technician's duties also include moving, turning or relocating patients as required for their comfort and medical requirements.

Responsibilities-

• Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse.
• Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse promptly.
• Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
• Performs receptionist duties courteously and cooperatively.
• Utilizes computer/handheld devices for documentation.
• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patient with everyday needs (personal hygiene, using the restroom, grooming etc.)
• Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse etc.).
• Take fluid samples or other specimens for testing.
• Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments.

Requirements:

• One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or GED , Completion of a training program approved by the Division of Nursing, Previous experience as a Nurse Aide or PCT, Customer Service techniques, Good interpersonal skills, Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
• BLS Certification
