Job Description: Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team at Novellis Health. This part-time/per diem position offers a flexible schedule with 2-3 days of work per week and the opportunity to contribute to the exceptional care we provide to our patients. Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred. Responsibilities: Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests.Develop and implement patient care plans, including treatment plans, medication management, and supportive care.Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and other medications as prescribed. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and manage side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care strategies.Provide emotional and psychosocial support to patients and their families.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists.Participate in patient rounds and tumor boards.Perform procedures such as venipuncture, injections, and dressing changes. Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and timely medical records.Assist with the coordination of patient care, including scheduling appointments and referrals.Participate in quality improvement initiatives.Stay current on the latest advancements in oncology and hematology. Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York.Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in oncology or hematology highly preferred.Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred but not required.Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.Strong organizational and time-management skills.BLS certification required.
