Award winning A16 Rockridge is currently looking for an experienced sous chef/events chef with a passion for southern Italian cuisine to join the management team.
Requirements, experience and training we are looking for in a candidate:
- 2-3 years managing a kitchen; 1-2 years leading a busy fine dining kitchen
- 1-2 years Catering Experience
- Manager Food Safety Certification Preferred
- Valid CA Drivers License Required
- Kitchen Spanish Preferred
- Wood-burning oven cookery and southern Italian cuisine
- Experience achieving food cost and labor cost; monthly inventory
- Ability to work as part of the team or independently
- Recruitment, coaching, mentoring, disciplinary procedures, and scheduling.
- Exuding a positive attitude, and being a role model for the entire restaurant staff
- We will be focusing on the right candidate to lead our team and embrace the A16 culture and environment.
- Experience running an open kitchen
- Sense of urgency and excellent problem-solving skills
- Culinary Graduate a plus
- Whole animal butchery
- Farm to table menu planning
- Experience making pasta by hand
- Maintaining established standards of food quality and plating
A16 provides full-time salaried position with benefits (medical and dental fully covered for the employee). The work week will typically be 50+ hours per week and the position requires nights and weekend hours. Salary based on experience.
