Get to Know Your Team: - Utica Park Clinic, founded in 1982, is a multi-specialty medical group with more than 300 employed physicians and advanced practice providers representing over 25 specialties across 80 plus clinics in Oklahoma.
Responsibilities - Answers multi-line telephones, takes messages and schedules new patient appointments.
- Schedules appointments and testing as requested and instructs the patient.
- Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
- Maintains and updates current demographic and insurance information.
- Type's letters, memos or other correspondence as requested.
- Greets patients and public in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner.
- Verifies necessary information such as insurance and authorizations and records it appropriately.
- Documents information regarding patient appointments and testing in appointment notes, order notes and clinic notes.
- Operates the fax machine, printers and copy machine.
- Notify outside facilities with appropriate patient information and documentation.
- Change toner on the copier, call for service or maintenance of equipment.
- Communicate verbally and by GEMMS messaging regarding patient appointments, testing and care with clinical staff.
- Maintains order status in GEMMS.
- Maintains GEMMS messages in a timely manner.
- Obtains authorization for appointments and testing.
- Collect co-pay and other payments from patients and log appropriately.
- Complete payment batch out daily and forward to appropriate staff.
- Float as needed.
- Follow check-out policy and procedure.
- Attend staff meetings.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
- High school graduation or GED
- Graduation from a business school/college and/or business courses helpful.
- Word processing and computer experience
Preferred Requirements:
- Prefer one year experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
