Job Title: Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Job Description: Boutique firm in Downtown Los Angeles seeks an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join their team. The ideal Paralegal/Legal Assistant has 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in Insurance Defense, has knowledge of document preparation and review, case management, and litigation support.

Paralegal/Legal Assistant Job Duties:

  • Organize and prepare documents for trials, hearings, and depositions
  • Assist with document reviews, document productions, database searches
  • Gather information for case intake and update clients on case matters
  • Schedule and set up conferences, meetings, hearings, court reporters
  • Manage calendar for attorneys
  • Communicate with court personnel to schedule appointments
  • Create Powerpoint presentations and other demonstrative aids
  • Prepare discovery shells, transmittal letters, proof and cite check documents
  • Assemble declarations and exhibits
  • File and efile at the state and federal level
  • Run and generate table of contents (TOC) and table of authorities (TOAs)
  • Utilize Adobe for bates stamping, redacting, and bookmarking

Paralegal/Legal Assistant Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree OR Paralegal Certificate OR 5+ years of experience, preferably in Insurance Defense
  • Knowledge of calendaring with Compulaw preferred
  • Knowledge of Westlaw, Adobe Acrobat, PACER, Microsoft office, Disco, and Relativity (or other eDiscovery platforms) strongly preferred

Hours: 9-6 PM or 9:30-6:30 PM (candidate can do 30 min or 1/hr lunch)

Located fully onsite in Downtown Los Angeles, CA
