Job Title: Litigation Legal Assistant
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Litigation Legal Assistant to support our legal team in various litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of legal procedures, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings, including organizing exhibits, drafting pleadings, and summarizing depositions.
- Manage case files and documentation, ensuring all materials are accurate and up-to-date.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case strategies.
- Draft and proofread legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
- File documents with courts and manage deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel as needed.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings for attorneys.
- Assist in preparing for depositions and trial by coordinating logistics and compiling evidence.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role, particularly in litigation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Understanding of court procedures and legal terminology.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with case management software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
