As a leader in solar manufacturing, we are looking for a skilled Technical Supervisor - Process Engineer to join our team. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can lead process improvement efforts while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise Process Improvement Technicians: Provide leadership and support to assigned technicians, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Troubleshooting and Equipment Configuration: Perform complete troubleshooting and changeovers for stringers, laminators, bussing stations, EL flashers, and other equipment configurations.
- Optimize Soldering Recipes: Enhance soldering parameters to improve productivity, reduce process losses, and achieve low breakage yields.
- Coordinate with R&D: Work closely with the research and development team to qualify BOMs and optimize cell-to-module loss.
- Programming and Optimization: Program and optimize ATN soldering parameters for improved cycle time and quality.
- Material Testing: Optimize gel content and adhesion tests to ensure supplier materials meet internal qualification standards in compliance with ASTM D2765 and ASTM D903.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure manufacturing processes meet UL 1703 safety standards, IEC 61215 module performance standards, and IEC 60904 product setup requirements.
- Mechanical Load Testing: Optimize processes to meet mechanical load testing requirements for solar modules in compliance with IEC 61215 standards.
- Lamination Process Optimization: Improve gel content tests and adhesion tests for multi-stacking laminators (2-step and 3-step) with different materials.
- Vision Systems Calibration: Calibrate and troubleshoot vision systems to maintain precision.
- New Product Start-Up: Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, and production launch of new products and equipment, ensuring processes meet requirements and are documented for production use.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve issues, conduct process studies, and drive constant improvements in process and quality.
- Safety and Productivity: Maintain safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration.
Education and Experience Required:
- Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology from an accredited college or university.
- 2-3 years of experience in solar module manufacturing is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual or conversations Mandarin/Chinese required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with 5S, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System , and/or Lean Manufacturing.
- Solid knowledge of statistical tools for process control and product monitoring.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset.
