JOB SUMMARY: Sort and distribute incoming/outgoing letters and packages for NCLH fleet in a timely and accurate manner. Assist Mail Services and Facilities with other job-related duties as assigned under Management direction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for receiving carriers and maintaining the loading dock free and clear.
- Responsible for receiving and sorting all incoming packages in the loading area.
- Accurately track and record packages received for NCLH fleet using the department's electronic tracking system.
- Assist Receiving Clerk II in the process of accurately accounting packages and palletizing.
- Assist with wrapping, tagging, and securing pallets for pickup by weekly courier company.
- Research and provide status and details on mail and packages received, as requested, within 24 hours of request receipt.
- Assist in the coordination and shipment of outgoing mail packages, via overnight carrier system (FedEx, DHL, etc.), as requested by NCLH fleet and/or departments.
- Operate company van/shuttle during periods of emergency absences or vacation, as necessary.
- Cross train with Corporate Mail and assist with coverage, as needed.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE
- Previous mailroom experience in a medium to large organization preferred.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Knowledge of or ability to operate various mailroom equipment properly and safely.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to communicate with tact and diplomacy, while providing professional customer service.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring strict accuracy while meeting various deadlines.
- Ability to efficiently manage time and workload with minimal supervision; this includes the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with mailroom processes, procedures, and policies, while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- With reasonable accommodation, ability to properly lift and carry up to 70 pounds as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, pull, and push on a frequent basis.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack, which may lift an excess of 200 lbs.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a solid driving record.
- Adherence to all local, state, and federal traffic laws when operating NCLH vehicles required.
