Job Description

This role is designed to support the electrical planning and validation for a battery plant. Key responsibilities include:

• Specification and Procurement : Identifying and procuring electrical devices (e.g., circuit breakers, bus plugs, transformers) necessary for supplying electrical utilities to equipment.
• Physical Layout Confirmation : Ensuring proper placement of bus plugs, cable trays, and data cable trays.
• Collaboration with 3rd Party Contractor : Working with an external contractor to develop an EasyPower model to evaluate the Available Fault Current (AFC) against the Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) of electrical components. This ensures compliance and helps manage non-compliance issues and mitigation strategies.
• Onsite Review and Management : Reviewing and managing the settings for substation breakers’ trip units, and overseeing their implementation with the facility team.
• Electrical Code Compliance : Applying electrical codes (e.g., NFPA70E NEC, NFPA79) to guide electrical compliance in all planning and validation tasks.

Requirements

• Educational Background : Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Master Electrician License.
• Knowledge of Electrical Codes : In-depth understanding of electrical codes such as NFPA70E NEC and NFPA79.
• Experience :
• Minimum of 5 years in electrical systems or equipment installation planning.
• Experience specifying and procuring electrical equipment rated 1000V or below.
• Familiarity with EasyPower electrical design software.
• Experience addressing fault current and arc flash issues.
• Proven ability in designing cable tray routing paths, panel layouts, and configuring network switches and associated hardware.
