Our challenge
We are looking for a highly skilled Python Developer who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Candidate will be working on complex systems and applications, contributing to large-scale projects that require a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and architectural design patterns.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga. ON / Montreal, QC is CAD $100k – CAD $102k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain high-quality Python code that meets project requirements.
- Utilize testing and code analysis tools such as Pytest and Pylint to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Work extensively with t-SQL, XML, and enterprise schedulers to manage and optimize data workflows.
- Apply best practices in software development and contribute to the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement robust solutions.
- Create high-level product specifications and design documents.
- Lead and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Integrate ETL/ELT processes using Python and ensure data consistency and efficiency.
- Develop applications using frameworks such as Django, Flask, Pyramid, or Tornado.
- Utilize version control systems, ticketing systems, and continuous integration tools to manage development tasks.
- Operate within an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Consume and integrate third-party APIs (e.g., REST APIs) into applications.
- Maintain a high level of code quality, performance, and security.
Requirements:
You are:
- At least 5 years of experience in Python development.
- Proficiency in Python testing and code analysis tools like Pytest and Pylint.
- Extensive experience in full-time Python development.
- At least 5 years of experience working with t-SQL, XML, and enterprise schedulers.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and architectural design patterns.
- Comprehensive experience in software development and the entire SDLC.
- Solid understanding of various programming tools and development platforms.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to see both the big picture and the details.
- Experience in creating high-level product specifications and design documents.
- Proven skills in collaboration and influence.
- Experience in writing Python applications using frameworks such as Django, Flask, Pyramid, or Tornado.
- Integration experience with ETL/ELT processes using Python.
- Familiarity with SSIS is a plus.
- General development expertise including version control, ticketing, and continuous integration systems.
- Experience in an Agile development environment.
- Experience in consuming APIs (e.g., REST).
