Desktop Support Technician
Location: Onsite at the Sullivan Park Campus, NY
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Overtime Possible)
Interview Process: 1 Round - Video or Onsite Interview
Contract Duration: Through End of Year with Possibility of Extension Based on Demand
Required Education:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED Required
- Associate Degree Preferred
Experience:
- 1-3 years of IT experience
- Hardware experience beyond imaging/deployment
Desired Skills and Responsibilities:
As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be responsible for managing the vulnerability patching of selected Lab Systems, and communicating with lab owners and technical staff to record and update our configuration management database and Active Directory. The role will also involve upgrading legacy Windows systems to the current Corning Version. Your key responsibilities include:
- Installing, troubleshooting, and providing ongoing support for hardware and software
- Administering Active Directory
- Imaging PCs and working with deployment servers
- Basic knowledge management
- Basic "smart hands" network configuration
Additional Key Duties:
- Managing acquisition, installation, maintenance, and use of desktop technology
- Coordinating with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Providing user training and support for software applications
- Assisting in the purchase and installation of hardware/software
- Representing the bridge between technology and business needs
- Contributing to smaller projects and tasks
- Following detailed instructions and working under supervision
- Attending update meetings and aligning with schedules

- CompTIA IT Fundamentals
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Cloud+
- CompTIA Mobility+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Server+
Position Expectations:
This role involves a mix of routine technical tasks and hands-on troubleshooting. While working closely with supervisors and project leaders, you will apply your foundational knowledge to help resolve technical issues and provide support for end users. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure and systems across the campus.
