Responsibilities:

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.
• Select pipe types and sizes, and related materials based on job specifications, system operation knowledge, and building plans/working drawings.
• Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and minimize pipe cutting.
• Thread and bend pipes manually or using a pipe bending machine.
• Assemble and join pipes using threaded, chalked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
• Secure pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers using hand tools.
• Test, inspect, and replace piping and pressure relief devices on production and facility equipment.
• Coordinate scheduled work with customers and service providers.
• Perform building walk-throughs to identify needed repairs and follow up with corrective actions.
• Check, test, and replace steam traps as necessary.
• Maintain the facility to ensure reliable and effective operation.
• Install valves and other plumbing fixtures in restrooms.
• Possess knowledge of underground sewer lines and drainage systems.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Journeyman or Master Plumber certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASSE certification for backflow testing and repair.
