Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual (Spanish) Personal Injury Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our legal team by managing personal injury cases, providing administrative assistance, and facilitating communication between attorneys, clients, and other parties. Fluency in Spanish is essential for this role, as many clients are Spanish-speaking.
Key Responsibilities :
Case Management :
- Assist attorneys in managing personal injury cases from inception to resolution.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accessible.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
Client Communication :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Spanish-speaking clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries.
- Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information for case preparation.
Litigation Support :
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and opposing counsel to collect records, negotiate settlements, and resolve disputes.
- Prepare exhibits, summaries, and other materials for depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Manage litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, and trial dates.
Administrative Duties :
- File legal documents with courts and government agencies.
- Schedule appointments, depositions, and meetings for attorneys.
- Assist with billing and time tracking related to case activities.
Qualifications :
- Fluency in Spanish and English (both written and verbal).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, specifically in personal injury litigation.
- Comprehensive understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation processes.
- Familiarity with local and state court filing systems and e-filing processes.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software (e.g., LexisNexis, Clio, or similar).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience with trial preparation and attendance
