Insight Global is hiring a CONTRACT Trades Manager for $25-$30 an hour in New Haven, CT. No relo candidates.
Job Summary: The Commercial Trades Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the commercial trades team, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other skilled trades personnel. This role ensures that all maintenance, repair, and installation work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with university standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of skilled trades professionals. Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Project Coordination: Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance and repair projects. Ensure timely completion of work orders and projects within budget.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. Address any deficiencies promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations.
- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the department’s budget. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Vendor Relations: Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized services. Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement and inventory of tools, equipment, and materials. Ensure adequate supplies are available for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance activities, and project progress. Prepare regular reports for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial trades role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management position.
- Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications: Relevant trade certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are highly desirable
