Job Description

A healthcare network in New York City is looking to fill an immediate need at one of their Brooklyn facilities with the addition of a new Leave of Absence Clerk for their Hospital.
About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule to work: Monday to Friday (on site)
  • Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)

Responsibilities:

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with compliance of the Leaves of Absence (LOA) and Disability processes across our organization.

  • Monitor and track leave of absence requests in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, alongside company policies.
  • Assess and communicate eligibility for various leaves, including FMLA, PFL, and ADA.
  • Prepare and send necessary forms and documentation to employees accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Identify trends and issues related to LOA, providing management with insights for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver training and support to management on LOA and ADA policies to ensure consistent application.
  • Collaborate with HR, Employee Health Services, Workers Compensation, and Payroll teams to meet objectives.
  • Manage confidential employee information in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and contribute to departmental tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in Human Resources or Leave of Absence (LOA) administration.
  • Understanding of federal and state leave laws and ADA requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with supervision.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with UKG Kronos or Pro Timekeeping System.
  • Detail oriented and analytical in reviewing large data sets.
