Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Structural Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design and development of solar mounting systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles and has completed the FE exam. You will play a crucial role in developing safe, efficient, and cost-effective mounting solutions that support our solar energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze solar mounting systems for various applications, including ground-mounted, rooftop, and carport structures.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure integration of structural considerations into solar energy projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for solar mounting systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Perform structural stability analyses, including wind, snow, and seismic loading.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for solar mounting structures, considering performance, durability, and sustainability.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress, challenges, and updates with stakeholders.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits and inspections.
- Stay current with advancements in solar technology and structural engineering practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license within a 2 year time frame.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software.
- Strong understanding of solar energy systems and mounting solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
