TWP is looking for a Senior technical designer to support the production and lead the patternmaking team. This position will report to the Director of Production. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to implement and improve processes while maintaining quality, timelines and budget.
Responsibilities
· Follow T&A calendar to help fit styles from SMS through PP to TOP and QC stage.
· Update tech packs, send comments to overseas factories, liaise with production/QC team on dissemination of domestic fit comments.
· Spec garments and provide graded specs to domestic grader/marker and to overseas factories.
· Work with patternmakers, grader/marker and development teams to obtain and maximize accuracy of consumption, fabrications, trims, processes.
· Follow production from SMS fitting stage through PP, TOP, to eventual delivery at our NJ warehouse.
· Work with QC manager and warehouse manager, to arrange bulk inspections at warehouse, as needed.
· Liaise with specialty category consultants (denim, sweaters, accessories) on the production of their seasonal capsules to ensure fit, quality standards and timely arrival.
· Work with production and raw materials teams to prioritize around fabric and trim arrival to factories.
· Schedule and manage weekly and seasonal production fittings.
· Oversee selection and maintenance of fit model. Approve fit model agency invoices.
· Direct daily communication (in-person, email, phone, video) with outside vendors and contractors.
· Update WIP chart and tech packs; create and maintain POMs and specs in RLM.
· Participate in weekly WIP meetings; advise of issues or concerns that can delivery / process.
· Share key seasonal specs and fit/finish details with DTC and wholesale channels.
· Create and maintain fit guides for selected categories.
· Maintain digital archive of Gerber patterns and markers; email and print as needed.
· Schedule freelance patternmaking / digitizing help, as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a Technical Design role with a strong background in garment construction and pattern making.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ERP/PLM systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for technical design and product devel
- opment.
- Domestic production experience is strongly preferred.
