A manufacturing company in Waukesha, Wisconsin is looking to hire a Buyer to join their team!
What You’ll Do:
- Review requisitions within ERP system, assessing item quantities, specifications, and delivery requirements.
- Identify and research potential sources for procurement.
- Issue RFQs for items not covered by existing agreements.
- Identify alternative suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery criteria when needed
- Reach out to potential vendors and negotiate terms to secure the best possible quotes.
- Evaluate quotations and determine the most suitable supplier, considering existing contracts or approved procurement procedures.
- Engage with vendor representatives as needed.
- Generate purchase orders for items and ensure adherence to budget limits.
- Negotiate the best possible pricing while balancing quality and delivery timelines.
- Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to ensure vendor compliance with agreed terms, particularly regarding delivery dates and item quantities/quality.
- Assess vendor performance based on firsthand experience, as well as feedback from receiving, engineering, and the shop floor.
- Maintain procurement records, tracking purchase orders and cost-saving initiatives.
- Address issues related to defective or unsatisfactory goods or services by collaborating with quality control, end users, vendors, and other stakeholders to identify the cause and implement corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support to personnel handling invoicing, addressing any discrepancies or deficiencies.
Must Have Skills:
- Associate’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
- Two years purchasing experience in manufacturing environment
- Combination of equivalent education and experience
- ERP experience, SAP experience preferred
- Ability to interpret data from manufacturing requisitions and procure the materials needed at price/quality standards
Salary of $65 - 75K Annually - Flexibility depending on skills and education
