Job Title: Research Associate

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA (Onsite 3 days per week)

Employment Type: 3-Year Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Research Associate to join the Drug Product Technologies group at our clients Thousand Oaks, CA site. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of therapeutic protein formulations, including stability testing and analytical characterization. This role requires a strong understanding of protein biochemistry and structure, hands-on experience with biophysical techniques, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform experiments to develop and evaluate therapeutic protein formulations.
  • Conduct stability testing and analytical characterization using a variety of biochemical and biophysical techniques.
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Manipulate protein solutions, including pipetting, dialysis, and concentration.
  • Perform HPLC chromatography and protein sample analysis.
  • Utilize visible and sub-visible particle analysis and other analytical methods.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to contribute to project objectives.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutics, biochemistry, chemistry, or related life sciences discipline.
  • 1+ year of experience in a lab setting (industry or academic).

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Fundamental understanding of protein chemistry, formulation, and biophysical characterization.
  • Hands-on experience with basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, sample preparation, and HPLC analysis.
  • Familiarity with visible and sub-visible particle analysis techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new techniques quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in maintaining detailed laboratory records.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
