Boutique law firm in Maryland is continuing to grow and poised to hire a bright and motivated litigation associate. This individual will work closely with an accomplished partner who is well positioned to mentor and train someone driven and capable.

The ideal candidate will have been selected for law review and have some experience as a law clerk or an associate at another firm.

In addition to strong research and writing, our client is seeking a candidate who is interested in litigation and able to learn quickly. Our client is committed in developing an associate and has opportunities for career growth within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and edit pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and other litigation-related materials.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide written analysis of case law, statutes, and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation for trials, hearings, and depositions.
• Attend hearings and depositions with senior attorneys and represent clients in certain matters as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and legal arguments.
• Maintain and organize case files and legal documents.
• Self-manage own tasks lists, deadlines, and workload.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, as well as with supervising attorneys.
• Support senior attorneys in trial preparation and client meetings.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Strong academic credentials, including experience on Law Review or similar legal publication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Membership in good standing with the Maryland Bar
• Membership in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar preferred, but not required
