Job Title: Project Manager – Distributed Energy Resources

Location: New York, NY (On-site, Dumbo, Brooklyn)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of distributed energy storage projects in New York City. In this role, you will manage projects through design, permitting, construction, and commissioning phases, ensuring their successful completion up to the point of receiving Certificates of Occupancy (CO) and Permission to Operate (PTO). Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Continuously source, benchmark, and negotiate with service firms and contractors to support project execution. Manage contracts, scope of work, costs, and terms to ensure progress and value.
  • Contract Administration: Oversee and enforce contracts, process invoices, and negotiate change orders as needed, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all projects meet applicable standards, regulations, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Schedule Oversight: Develop and manage project schedules to maintain key milestones, mitigate delays, and control costs.
  • Cost Controls: Implement cost tracking mechanisms to monitor budgets, prevent overruns, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate weekly with internal teams and external partners on permitting, design, procurement, and construction progress.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct site visits and meet with stakeholders as required to maintain project alignment and address challenges.
  • Progress Reporting: Maintain executive dashboards and lead monthly project reviews to highlight achievements and address ongoing challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, logistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet.
  • Strong ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
