? Role: Electrical Development Engineer

Location: Chicago (Hybrid) or US (Remote)

Storm4 is partnered with an established utility-scale solar IPP that has recently pivoted into renewables and is looking to grow rapidly during 2025, establishing themselves further into the solar and BESS space. They are firstly looking to add to their team with an Electrical Development Engineer that will play critical role in the technical development of utility-scale solar projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical designs for utility-scale solar PV projects, including single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and interconnection strategies.
• Conduct power flow studies, energy yield analyses, and system performance assessments.
• Liaise with utilities, transmission operators, and regulatory bodies to facilitate grid interconnection processes.
• Evaluate the electrical and technical feasibility of potential project sites.
• Provide technical guidance during the transition from development to construction.

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a minimum of 3 years with direct solar experience.
• Experience with GIS, transmission, solar design and interconnection for renewable energy projects is preferred.
• Experience with energy storage systems (BESS) is a plus.
• Experience with origination and/or development software is a plus.
