Relationships

  • Reports to - Senior Project Manger or Project Manger on assigned project.


Role Purpose

As a Project Engineer you will assist your dedicated project team with daily executions of RFI's, submittals, sub contractor communication, etc. The Project Engineer will be a liaison with contractors, Superintendents, Project Managers, and owners to ensure all parties are up to date. We are looking for PE in the Raleigh, NC area!


Responsibilities

  • Learn to effectively manage project schedules, material procurement, subcontractors, resources, and project documentation. Assist in the management of Owner Change Orders, Subcontractor Change Orders, RFI’s, and project closeout.
  • Perform line and grade work for building layout and control as required.
  • Develop a knowledge base by conducting frequent and regular site inspections to ensure installations meet, or exceed, approved submittals, shop drawings and quality of construction in support of overall project schedule.
  • Effectively manage, document, and keep record of project submittals (Product Data, Shop Drawings, Samples, Mock-ups) with subcontractors, design team and owners to ensure all materials (and associated installations) are approved in a timely manner to keep the project on schedule.
  • Before any project, meeting with the PM, Superintendent, and Estimator to discuss project setup, team structure, schedule, and project approach.
  • Manage and update all Contract Drawings and Specifications with Architect Supplemental Information to ensure field operations has the most current set of documents.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, or other related field.
  • 1-2 years experience with a previous general contactor.
  • Demonstrated understanding of building processes and systems.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor styles to match the audience.
  • Must be able to travel 10-15% of the time.
