Job Description

MAGNIFY is excited to share a DIRECT HIRE opportunity available now for a skilled Construction Estimator to join our RVA client’s team!


The Estimator would collaborate closely with PM’s, ensuring projects are competitively priced, including qualifying subcontractors, and aligning with client timelines and budgets. You will be playing a vital role in the success of each project by ensuring all preplanning is completed with all details and variables accounted for! Some travel may be required.


Must have:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Estimator for Commercial projects, experience with Self-Storage preferred.
  • Experience estimating projects at $10M+.
  • Strong experience with MS Suite specifically Excel
  • Experience working with construction software including Bluebeam.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Project Managers prior to construction to ensure accurate project estimates.
  • Evaluate project scope, prepare bids, perform take-offs, and assess risks for each job.
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, and design development estimates, including GMPs and lump sum bids.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Provide advice and insights during project reviews and attend meetings with owners, architects, and engineers to discuss project details.
  • Lead preconstruction review meetings to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Integrate quality assurance/quality control processes into project planning and execution.
  • Additional duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, architecture, civil engineering, or related field, OR substantial relevant experience (5+ years) in industrial, entertainment, retail, self-storage construction, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project), as well as Bluebeam, or similar construction software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the US.
