Job Description

Title : PE Associate – Healthcare PE

Location : Boston Metro

Start Date : September 2025

Founded in 2003, our Healthcare Middle-Market Private Equity client has approximately $9.0B AUM and has invested in 200+ platform and add-on acquisitions targeting patient-centric healthcare organizations dedicated to providing best of class clinical care and service to patients. The firm closed Fund V in 2022 at $1.7B of total committed capital, which is nearly double the size of its previous fund. Due to the increased fund sizes and deal flow, they seek to hire an Associate for an immediate – Spring 2024 start. The firm historically promotes from within versus hiring lateral VP+ talent. Associates will be part of multiple deal teams, interact regularly with founders/C-level management, work closely with portfolio companies, travel as necessary, be present at board meetings and have a tremendous opportunity to enhance their investment experience. Visa candidates welcome.

Our client partners with profitable healthcare companies of approximately $20 to $200M in revenues and $3 million - $20 million in EBITDA. The firm invests in essential healthcare services, and pharma services e.g. behavioral health services, fertility and women’s health, post-acute care, home health and hospice, outsources pharma services and physician practice management organizations. Common characteristics of the companies in which they invest include: asset lite, founder-owned, scalable in service lines or geography. Our client tends to be the first institutional capital and their portfolio companies provide mission-critical healthcare services where an imbalance of supply and demand exists. They close approx. 12-15 platform deals per fund + 5-20 add-on acquisitions per EACH platform. As such, this allows Associates direct involvement with C-level management, portfolio operations and attendance at board meetings. In addition, they will participate in weekly Investment Committee meetings.

This is an Associate role where you will enjoy a lot of reps, responsibility, a competitive salary, and path to promotion based on merit.

The Role:

  • Evaluating new investments by assessing the attractiveness of potential new deals and forming a view on the industry, business model and company
  • Preparing investment memos, financial models, financial projections, and valuations
  • Conducting due diligence on prospective investment opportunities, including industry specific research and financial analysis
  • Assisting in coordination and management of third-party due diligence and serving as the lead in lender meetings
  • Monitoring existing investments and traveling to sites
  • Providing additional resources and analysis to management teams
  • Attending board meetings in person
