Director of Property Management

Location: Dallas, TX

Hours: Full-time

Salary Range: $165,000.00-$180,000.00

Summary

A growing property management company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Property Management to lead its residential property management operations and drive future expansion. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional to take ownership of a rapidly growing portfolio, implement innovative strategies, and build a high-performing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about resident care, operational excellence, and industry innovation, with a strong desire to elevate property management standards.


What You Will Be Doing


Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a vision to establish the company as a top-tier property management provider.
  • Oversee residential property management operations while preparing for potential expansion into commercial and third-party management.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive innovation, set key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage day-to-day operations with full autonomy, ensuring processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with company values.
  • Develop and document operational procedures to support future growth and third-party management opportunities.
  • Utilize property management software (e.g., AppFolio) to optimize reporting, workflows, and financial management.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to ensure alignment with company goals and values.

Resident and Community Engagement

  • Prioritize resident satisfaction, retention, and community-building initiatives.
  • Gather and incorporate resident feedback to continuously improve services and amenities.

Growth and Innovation

  • Lead the expansion of the residential portfolio, including the integration of approximately 1,200 units.
  • Position the company as a premier provider in third-party property management by demonstrating operational success and leveraging industry networks.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and implement forward-thinking strategies to enhance property management services.

What You Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in residential property management (commercial experience is a plus).
  • Strong strategic and operational skills with an entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset.
  • Passion for property management with a focus on continuous improvement and exceptional service.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with team members, residents, and property owners.
  • Expertise in property management software (e.g., AppFolio) and financial management, including budgeting and P&L analysis.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growing organization.
