We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Catering Sales Manager to oversee all aspects of catering sales for Homewood Suites Oak Creek. This role is responsible for securing new catering accounts, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and ensuring that food and beverage revenue targets are met or exceeded. You will also oversee client functions to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new catering accounts and maintain relationships with existing clients to meet and surpass revenue goals via phone outreach, outside sales visits, site inspections, and written communication.
- Follow up with clients to ensure timely booking and exceed expectations.
- Prepare and manage customer correspondence, internal booking reports, and organize files related to catering functions, menus, client contacts, and departmental policies.
- Participate in daily business reviews, pre-convention meetings, training sessions, and other catering-related meetings as required.
- Prepare banquet event orders, ensuring that client requirements (e.g., room setup, menu planning) are communicated to all operational departments.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to deliver high-quality service to clients.
- Attend community and industry events to build relationships and stay informed of market trends and competition.
- Meet with clients and team members before and during events to ensure smooth execution.
- Provide support to the banquet team during events, if needed.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) of the workplace.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience in sales and customer relations, particularly in catering.
- Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus and presentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Problem-solving skills to address customer needs and resolve complaints independently.
- Strong sales skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi (or similar booking/client management software).
- Ability to set and achieve goals.
- Experience in developing and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous catering sales experience is essential.
