Job Title : Security Architect

Location : Remote (Must be local to Chicago, IL)

Contract Length : 12+ Months

Pay Rate : Up to $83/hour

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect (Firewall) to join our team on a long-term contract. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of security technologies, hands-on design and implementation experience, and a proactive approach to solving complex security challenges. This role is remote but requires the candidate to be based in Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design & Implementation : Hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of security solutions.
• Subject Matter Expertise : Serve as an expert in analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions leveraging technologies like HPE Aruba ClearPass, Palo Alto Firewalls, Fortinet Firewalls, Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, and Skybox Security.
• Zero Trust Implementation : Implement and maintain zero trust architectures.
• Compliance Leadership : Lead initiatives to ensure compliance with PCI DSS 4.0 standards.
• Incident Management : Conduct Root Cause Analysis for P1/P2 incidents and follow ITIL processes to ensure swift resolution.
• Project Management : Develop communication plans, create and store project artifacts, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Testing & Documentation : Develop robust test plans, cases, and scripts; ensure defects are resolved, and user acceptance is obtained. Maintain proper documentation in designated repositories.
• Stakeholder Collaboration : Communicate infrastructure, application, and data changes effectively to business and technical stakeholders, addressing potential impacts.
• Business Alignment : Evaluate business processes to identify capability gaps and recommend innovative technology solutions that align with business strategies.
• Support & Advisory : Act as 3rd-level support to resolve complex security issues and advise teams on leveraging technology to improve performance and resilience.

Required Skills :

• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Palo Alto Firewalls
• Fortinet Firewalls
• HPE Aruba ClearPass
• Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX)
• Expertise in designing and implementing zero trust architectures.
• Knowledge and experience with PCI DSS 4.0 compliance.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Experience in developing and managing communication and project plans.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to simplify complex processes and systems.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Familiarity with Skybox Security solutions.
• Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Strong understanding of business operations and strategic alignment.
