Aerothreads is actively seeking a CAD Designer to join our Thermal Blanket Design Team, supporting our customers in the rapidly growing aerospace industry.

The successful Aerothreads CAD Designer candidate will be primarily responsible for developing 3D thermal blanket CAD coverage models and technical drawings in Creo, using customer furnished flight article CAD models as the basis for design. The successful candidate for this role will have previous experience deriving requirements from client-provided project specifications and aerospace industry MLI standards.

Job Description :

• Develop 3D CAD coverage models and technical drawings in Creo
• Upkeep CAD revision control system
• Communicate directly with clients for technical exchanges
• Assist in creating client design presentations
• Communicate and present features of own designs clearly and accurately to clients during meetings
• Keep record of client design change requests
• Reach design solutions collaboratively
• Implement both client feedback and team feedback in designs on a constant basis
• Ensure pattern manufacturability by making basic paper mockups as needed
• Take initiative to achieve best results, by asking questions, improving own design process, and revisiting past projects and solutions.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Experience in aerospace HIGHLY preferred
• Experience working with Creo CAD Software
• Experience using CAD in a product manufacturing environment, with a focus on manufacturability and quality control
• Experience deriving requirements from client-provided project specifications
• Experience flat patterning preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work as a part of a highly collaborative fast-paced team
