Manufacturing Engineer – Aerospace/Space Industry


Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our aerospace/space industry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes for aerospace and space components and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing techniques, materials, and quality standards specific to the aerospace industry, as well as a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

Process Development and Optimization:

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality production of aerospace components.
  • Conduct process simulations and analyses to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product performance.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to the production team to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products and implement design changes.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations, including AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Develop and maintain quality control systems to monitor and improve product quality.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage manufacturing projects from concept through production, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, and supply chain to achieve project objectives.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance productivity.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Prepare reports on process performance, project status, and improvement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace or space industry.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive manufacturing (3D printing) and automation.
  • Familiarity with space industry requirements and standards.
