Position Summary: Payroll and HR Specialist
Ideal candidate will reside in Detroit, MI or Louisville, KY and be able to go onsite 1-2 times in a two week span.
We’re looking for candidates that possess multi-client experience as well as extensive experience in Workday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing, preparing, and producing accurate and timely payrolls for client, based on state and federal regulations and company policies on a biweekly and monthly basis
- Checking client’s employees’ timesheets for accuracy
- Make adjustments in Workday for raises, bonuses, commission, and severance
- Review and validate payroll reports for accuracy, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- Analyze payroll results and other Human Resources reports to answer complex questions and recommend courses of action while exercising independent judgment and discretion
- Generate complex reports within Workday for multiple departments
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from client and their employees
- Process employee garnishments
- Coordinate payroll general ledger processing with accounting
- Prepare time and labor files
- Input employee changes, maintain deductions, banking information, and employee maintenance items
- Processes leave of absences and manages ADA requests
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented across the business unit, aligning with compliance and company standards.
· Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions, compliance with onboarding documentation
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- At least 5 years’ proven experience processing end-to-end payroll and human resources preferably in a medium to large organization
- PHR or SHRM certification; Certified Payroll Professional certification a plus
- Prior experience working as a consultant in a fast-paced work environment is required
- Expert knowledge in Workday; to include report writing and reviewing Workday to inmprove efficiency
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and human resources best practices
- Demonstrated organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Educated on compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and requirements
- Excellent math and numerical skills
- Proficient in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
