Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Temple and Multiple sites across Texas

Job Type: Permanent

Shift: 12 HR Days, 3 shifts per week

We are working with a leading healthcare organization in Texas that is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join their team in Temple across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Instrument Sterilization: Decontaminate, clean, sterilize, process, and arrange instruments, supplies, and equipment following strict standards and guidelines.
• Equipment Operation: Operate sterilization equipment using approved detergents and disinfectants according to established protocols.
• Room Preparation: Prepare and arrange rooms, ensuring all instruments and equipment are organized and ready for use.
• Inventory Management: Order, replenish, and distribute instruments and reusable medical equipment for general and surgical use.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor and assist in training entry-level Sterile Processing staff, including providing in-service training sessions.
• Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety, environmental, and infection control protocols to uphold patient care and workplace standards.

About You

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in sterile processing.
• Certification (one of the following):
• Certified Board Sterile Processing & Distribution (CBSPD)
• Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST)
• Certified Sterile Processing/Distr Tech (CSPDT)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Skills:
• Familiarity with sterilization techniques and procedures.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Adherence to safety, environmental, and infection control practices.
