Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, tax data, and payroll deductions.
- Verify timesheets and attendance records.
- Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions.
- Prepare and distribute paychecks and direct deposit statements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Three years of proven experience as a payroll clerk or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in payroll softwares (UKG, Workday, ADP)
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Experience and working knowledge of labor unions and CBA's
