Job Title: Paralegal
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in utilizing Case Management Software, notably MyCase, and performing Intake Interviews.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing and managing Case Management Software (MyCase) to organize and oversee all case processes effectively.
- Conducting intake interviews with potential clients to gather necessary information and assess the potential legal matters.
- Managing scheduling and deadlines using advanced calendar management, ensuring all appointments, case milestones, dockets, meetings, court appearances and deadlines are updated and communicated to the relevant parties.
- Responsible for the drafting and reviewing of initial pleadings, motions and other legal documents, under the supervision of an attorney.
- Using Google Docs efficiently for the organization, collaboration, and sharing of essential legal paperwork.
- Request and review medical records as required for individual cases.
- Obtain police reports for relevant casework.
- Draft and send letters of representation along with other legal correspondence.
- Electronic court filing, answering phone calls and file to trial preparation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification or degree in Paralegal Studies/Law from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience using Case Management Software, preferably MyCase.
- Experience in calendar management and scheduling.
- Good interview skills, particularly in the areas of client intake.
- Proficiency in using Google Docs for document sharing and collaboration.
- Familiarity with the processes concerning medical records and police reports retrieval.
- Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting legal documents.
