Network Engineer (Hybrid)
*This is a hybrid opportunity that will require an on-site presence in Scottsdale, AZ*
Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team! This candidate will be responsible for supporting IT and OT systems, managing network infrastructure projects, and handling production tasks. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining site networks, configuring and supporting various applications and systems, and ensuring the effective delivery of technical solutions.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years in network infrastructure design, deployment, and support, particularly with Cisco and Palo Alto technologies.
- Proficiency in Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4 protocols, subnetting, LAN/WAN, VLAN, and ACLs. Experience with disaster recovery, data center security, and network monitoring tools.
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, and teamwork skills.
- Expertise in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto enterprise environments.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Implement and support network operations for IT and OT systems.
- Maintain and manage network hardware inventory across multiple sites, data centers, and corporate offices.
- Conduct regular network patching, ensuring compliance with change management protocols.
- Manage and prioritize tasks related to network operations support.
- Contribute to network project planning, including testing procedures, system documentation, and user training.
- Implement system enhancements and new systems, ensuring compliance through proper documentation and processes.
- Install, implement, and enhance systems related to SCADA systems and integrate these with energy management and business intelligence systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Identify and address process gaps, proposing and implementing improvements.
- Coordinate with vendors for new implementations and upgrades, ensuring adherence to technical standards.
- Review deliverables to ensure quality before production support.
- Manage and utilize network monitoring systems and tools like SolarWinds, MRTG, Cisco SNTC, Cisco Defense Orchestrator, Wireshark, Cisco ISE, Cisco WOM, IPAM, and Umbrella.
- Ensure all technical documentation is complete, current, and appropriately stored.
