Job Description

***Only qualified Sr Project Manager candidates located in the Richmond, VA area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***


Required Education:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with major study in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.


Required Certifications:

• Project management experience with a PMP Certification


Desired Certifications:

• VITA PMD Certification Highly Desired (5 Years)


Required Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects including those which span 2-3 years. (10 Years)

• Producing comparative analysis of value propositions, proposals, and cost benefit analyses. (10 Years)

• Managing requests for information/proposal from inception to vendor selection. (10 Years)

• Creating presentations that are clear for an audience with varied levels of understanding. (10 Years)

• Proficient usage of Microsoft Word and Excel. (10 Years)


Desired Skills:

• Experience working in Human Resources is a plus

• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite/Oracle Cloud solutions is desirable


Sr Project Manager Role and Responsibilities:

• IT Project management experience.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects including those which span 2-3 years.

• Producing comparative analysis of value propositions, proposals, and cost benefit analyses.

• Managing requests for information/proposal from inception to vendor selection.

• Creating presentations that are clear for an audience with varied levels of understanding.

• Proficient usage of Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Develop and maintain project documentation required by Procurement and VITA.

• Track and report on the progress and outcomes of major active projects.

• Develop and maintain projects schedules and budgets.

• Build and maintain effective relationships with project team and vendors through timely, accurate and effective communication.


Job description:

The Client is looking for a Project Manager with 10+ years of experience implementing IT projects. The project manager is responsible for managing the project scope, schedule, budget, other project management artifacts and reporting to Client HR management. The project manager will assist the Client HR Division staff in responding to external agency partners and vendors, coordinating tasks assigned to Client, and ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and meet key deadlines. Process optimization, awareness of best practices, and change management experience is highly preferred. Must possess strong oral/written communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Should have the ability to manage shifting priorities.
