Job Overview:
This role will work closely with the engineering team to support the design, construction, and validation of machines used in the production of SMA wire. The ideal candidate will be experienced in electrical design, familiar with machine and panel safety standards, and have a solid understanding of PLC and HMI systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with lead engineers to design and construct manufacturing machines used to produce SMA wire.
- Learn and apply industry standards for machine and panel safety to ensure safe production processes.
- Review and follow electrical schematics to correctly wire machines and panels using appropriate insulation colors, wire gauges, and routing methods.
- Design, review, and update schematics to ensure correctness and compliance with internal standards.
- Support the creation and management of documentation to validate machines and meet required deliverables.
- Review, design, and update PLC and HMI software (Allen-Bradley CompactLogix) for machine control and operation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience with electrical schematics and manufacturing machines.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical or similar schematic design software.
- Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley CompactLogix preferred).
- Knowledge of machine and panel safety standards.
- Strong understanding of wire sub-panels, wire components, and their integration into enclosures.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, etc.) for documentation and reporting.
