The Senior Civil Engineer will lead a team and drive the growth of our expanding firm. In this role, the candidate will oversee planning, design, permitting, septic and stormwater design, and technical report preparation for various land development projects, guiding them from concept to completion. Will work with clients and manage key land development processes in Connecticut, including zoning, site due diligence, land use permits, and municipal presentations.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior Civil Engineer will lead and manage land development projects, including design, permitting, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee site analysis, stormwater management, septic design, and preparation of technical reports
- Manage projects from concept through to construction documentation
- The Senior Civil Engineer will develop client relationships and manage client expectations
- Mentor and motivate team members, ensuring effective collaboration and project success
- Prepare and review proposals, reports, and cost estimations
Requirements:
- The Senior Civil Engineer must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Must have 10+ years of experience in land development engineering in Connecticut
- Must hold a Connecticut Professional Engineer (PE) License
- In-depth knowledge of Connecticut land use regulations, zoning, and permitting
- The Senior Civil Engineer must have strong client management and business development skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD or Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite
- The Senior Civil Engineer must have expertise in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, SWPPP preparation, and water quality compliance
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management abilities
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Must be able to work without a visa sponsorship
