Role Overview:
The Principal Scientist – Associate Director will play a key leadership role within the synthetic/process chemistry team, focusing on the development and optimization of drug substances for small molecule oncology therapies. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment, contributing directly to advancing cancer treatments into clinical stages.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of synthetic routes for small molecule drug candidates.
- Drive process development and scale-up efforts from lab to commercial scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemistry, formulation, and manufacturing.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory filings and ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior scientists, fostering a collaborative and dynamic team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemistry or related field with 5-10 years of industry experience in small molecule synthesis and process development.
- Expertise in synthetic and process chemistry, with a proven track record in drug substance development.
- Experience within the biotech industry is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and guide a small team.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams to drive project timelines and deliverables.
