Electrical Design Engineer (Intermediate and Senior Levels)

Position Overview :
As an Electrical Design Engineer , you will be responsible for contributing to or leading the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for various industrial and commercial projects. Depending on your experience level, you will either play a supporting role in multidisciplinary teams or take on leadership responsibilities, guiding others and ensuring technical excellence.
Experience with design of systems, structures and components for nuclear facilities under the
requirements of ASME NQA-1 is required
Key Responsibilities :
- Core Responsibilities (Applicable to Both Levels) :
- Develop and review electrical specifications, design criteria, and system descriptions.
- Create and modify electrical design drawings (e.g., single line diagrams, schematics, wiring layouts, raceway, lighting, and grounding).
- Perform and verify electrical calculations such as short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop, and cable pulling tension.
- Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, vendors, and clients.
- Execute work in compliance with quality standards, codes, and project baselines.
- Provide technical support for procurement, construction, and startup activities.
- Additional Responsibilities for Senior Engineers :
- Lead and oversee technical execution of complex projects.
- Supervise and mentor engineers and designers within the team.
- Develop project estimates, schedules, and progress reports.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, vendors, and project management.
- Ensure compliance with advanced discipline-specific codes and standards.
Qualifications :
- Core Qualifications (Applicable to Both Levels) :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards.
- Proficiency with engineering software tools (e.g., 3D modeling, CADD, or electrical analysis software).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Additional Qualifications for Senior Engineers :
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including leadership roles.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering codes, standards, and EPC project execution.
- Experience managing large, multidisciplinary projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
