About the Role:
Job Title: Senior Quality Engineering (QE) and Automation Specialist
Location: Houston, TX and Austin TX
Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Quality Engineering (QE) and Automation Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality systems and software products by applying their expertise in Quality Engineering, Agile methodologies, test automation, test management, and advanced technologies like cloud, containers, and DevOps. Additionally, strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Generative AI (GenAI) is required to drive innovation and continuous improvement in our processes.
Key Responsibi lities:
- Lead and implement Quality Engineering (QE) practices to ensure the highest quality standards are met across software and system development projects.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to integrate test automation within the sprint lifecycle, ensuring timely and efficient testing for each release.
- Oversee test management processes, ensuring proper test case coverage, defect tracking, and reporting of test results.
- Develop and track key quality metrics to assess product and process quality, and proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Apply system design principles to ensure software architectures are scalable, efficient, and maintainable.
- Leverage cloud platforms and container technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes) to optimize test environments and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline and support fast, reliable releases.
- Apply ITSM best practices to ensure that quality assurance processes align with IT service management standards, including incident and problem management.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies, particularly in the field of Generative AI (GenAI), and integrate advanced AI models where applicable to enhance testing and quality assurance practices.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, guiding them on best practices for test automation, QE processes, and Agile methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in Quality Engineering, including test automation and test management.
- Proven experience working within Agile teams and utilizing Agile methodologies for software delivery.
- Advanced knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
- Solid understanding of system design principles and how they impact software quality.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (e.g., Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines).
- Expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and best practices (e.g., ITIL).
- Strong knowledge of Generative AI (GenAI) technologies and their application in improving software testing and quality processes.
- Experience in developing and tracking quality metrics to drive improvements in software quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions quickly.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams.
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $1,17,000-$1,28,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful
candidat e.
