Contract role for approximately 2 years.

Key Responsibilities

Project Design & Engineering:

• Lead and design projects supporting capital and operations/maintenance budgets for facilities, including service centers, commercial buildings, and yards.
• Support projects for other departments, including Steam Distribution, Substation Operations, Electrical Operations, IT, and Transportation Operations.

Mechanical Systems Expertise:

• Provide engineering support for mechanical systems in commercial buildings and yards, such as HVAC, controls, pumping, and heat exchange systems.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations and select appropriate mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with NYS and NYC Building Codes.

Technical Review:

• Review and approve contractor designs, calculations, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Maintain the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in design deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in design and the application of engineering principles in the relevant field.
• Proficient knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• In-depth understanding of NYS and NYC Building Codes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience in design and the application of engineering principles in the relevant field.
